This mama to be asked for a tea party themed baby shower for the pending arrival of her baby girl. She specified that she didn't want any games or the traditional onesies strung up for you to decorate and I thought to myself "Now this was a shower I could get behind and style!"
I immediately thought of my grandmother's vintage china which I'm sure a lot of you will recognize as the Desert Rose collection. I had been meaning to pull it out so we could add it to our rental selection and this was the perfect opportunity to get some shots of it in use. Coupled with our assortment of colored depression glass it pulled all of the colors I wanted onto the tables.
Next I narrowed down the focal points which I decided on being 36" white balloons with baby rose vines hanging over each table. They were the perfect way to showcase the height of the room while keeping it airy and light. And how amazing did the vines look dangling over the flower arrangements?! Do not be surprised to see me use these balloons again. There are so many options with them and so much bang for your buck.
I wanted to make sure that there were details that still made it clear that it was a baby shower and I did that with the cake display where I wrote "A Baby Is Brewing" on the mirror in chalk paint and displayed the beautiful tea pots and cups and saucers that matched the plates.
A few vintage children's books coupled with a silver piggy bank and rattle also helped to tell the story.
The entry was kept really simple with a gold mirror saying "Welcome" painted in chalkboard paint and an extra balloon on the front steps. Just inside we hung"baby shower" signs over some crystal dripped brass candlesticks and an extra bouquet.
....below you'll see the beautiful mama of the hour in the space! Congrats Megan!
